Inspired by the history of still life painting, this series of still images illustrates connections between natural elements, and human commodities. The images point to a narrative created by the human desire to collect and control natural resources. The items, objects, and commodities humans collect tell a story showing what we value and how we value them. If we look to the persistent appearance of plants in our daily lives a history begins to form where plants have an active role in shaping human lives. This symbiotic story is imperative in changing how we view and treat the natural resources in our environment.
